About Berry Scrumptious

Berry Scrumptious is the brain child of husband and wife team Claire and Ross Rennie. We're a small, innovative company based on Ross’s family farm in Aberdeenshire.

Ross is charged with growing premium quality strawberries & raspberries especially for Berry Scrumptious. Claire is the creative side of the partnership and together we strive to provide the highest quality of product and service possible.

We are very lucky to live and work in a beautiful part of the British Isles. Our commute to work is all of two minutes and the view from the farm office window is of trees and fields – quite different from our earlier careers where Claire worked in marketing and Ross a Chartered Accountant!

We are both passionate about growing fresh, natural produce and taking that from field to fork in as few steps as possible. That’s why we always prefer to use our own strawberries and raspberries, grown with care and attention, where we can.

Our Farm

Manse Farm is part of the family farm which the Rennie family have been farming for four generations. The farm is situated on the north east coast of Scotland, around 1 mile from the coast and small harbour village of Rosehearty. Our location so close to the sea means that we are protected from harsh frosts and so have a longer soft fruit growing season than is found inland.

We have a range of crops and enterprises on the farm including a herd of Aberdeen Angus cows, barley for malting and feeding to the cows as well as local sales of raspberries and strawberries.

As farmers, we are also guardians of the countryside and work closely with the RSPB to maintain the population of corn buntings that also live on the farm. We have one of the largest populations of this bird in the UK and leave a number of cereal fields unharvested each year to provide shelter for their nests which they make on the ground. Find out more from the RSPB website here.
